breakfast in burgundy

from $50.00
sold out

I shot this on a rainy morning just outside of Buene, where I was, all at once, over-caffeinated, unmotivated and mildly hungover. Walking around I stumbled into a castle (you can do that there), which was enclosed by vineyards. Even though it was cold, damp, and downright miserable by LA standards, the winemakers were out. - setting tiny contained fires to prevent frost from damaging their crops. These small burns emitted this leathery, pipe tobacco and coffee-ish smell, which you won’t get from buying this print (sorry, it was really nice). But I sat down, right there in… is that a foyer? Put my head on my backpack, enjoyed the company of people other than myself working and just sort of waited.

Sometimes I sit and think, sometimes I just sit.

But came away with this. Which i’m into.

So, “breakfast in burgundy” is unequal parts - scent of pipe tobacco, Château du Beune, spoiled LA resident who thinks overcast + 55 degrees is “bad weather” and…of course, bird (real)
